Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Fifth District announced an arrest has been made related to an armed carjacking that happened Nov. 9th, 2017 on the 1000 block of Bladensburg Road NE.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov 9th of last year, the victim was driving a vehicle for hire and picked up the suspect on the 1000 block of Bladensburg Road. The victim and the suspect argued, and the victim asked the suspect to exit the vehicle. The suspect pulled out a handgun and told the driver to get out of the car. As the suspect tried to take control of the car, the victim was able to drive away. The suspect fled on foot.
On Thursday, January 11th 2018, as per a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, a 21-year-old Northeast man was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking.

At 4:34 a.m. Thursday, a woman was arrested on the 1900 block of Massachusetts Avenue SE on charges of Threatening to do Bodily Harm.
At 1:56 p.m. Thursday, there was a robbery at a public building on the 1200 block of Fourth Street SW.
Reporting Illegal Activity
Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.
When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:
- Brief description of the activity;
- Date, time and location of the activity;
- Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
- Descriptions of vehicles;
- Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
- Your name and information.
