On Friday, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) First District announced an arrest was made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that took place Friday, Nov. 30, on the 700 block of Eighth Street SE.
At approximately 1:25 a.m., the suspect approached the victim at that address, and the two got into an argument. The suspect pulled a handgun and threatened the victim, and then fled the scene.
The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
A 25-year-old Southeast man was arrested Friday and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

At 3:17 am. Friday morning, police responded to reports of an unarmed carjacking at Eight and G Streets NE. The lookout was for a black male in white pants, shirt and hooded sweater who took a Grey Toyota Camry bearing Virginia tags that include the letters ‘RJ’. The car was last seen headed south on G Street NE.
At 9:36 Friday morning, there was an armed robbery at Kentucky Avenue and C Street SE, near to Payne Elementary School. The lookout is for a black male between 16 and 22 years old, about 5 foot 8 inches, wearing dark pants and a blue hooded sweat shirt. The suspect is armed with a handgun.

At 2:07 p.m. Thursday, a man was arrested on the 1200 block of Half Street SE on charges of Simple Assault.
At 7:37 p.m. Thursday, a man was arrested on the 1200 block of G Street SE on charges of Simple Assault.
Reporting Illegal Activity
Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.
When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

- Date, time and location of the activity;
- Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
- Descriptions of vehicles;
- Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
- Your name and information.
