Not to worry, music and dance fans: storied H Street concert, bar and event venue Rock & Roll Hotel (1353 H St. NE) is not about to close at the end of the year.
After Popville published a story noting that Rock & Roll, now in its 13th year, had ‘no events’ listed after November, noting a rumor that venue the might be closing at the end of the year, fans panicked:
I cannot…this would be devastating https://t.co/RqKpozVekB

This would be a real loss. R&R Hotel is pretty much the only reason I ever find myself on H. We've got a lot of great venues in town, but some of my favorite shows have been here. Isbell a few times, Sleigh Bells, Sloan, Tyler Childers…
Hope the tipster is wrong. https://t.co/gXAsoCRDXr

However, Rock & Roll Hotel owner Jason Martin said there was no foundation to the rumors. “Not sure where this rumor is coming from, but it is false and they are misinformed,” he wrote in an email to the Hill Rag.
“December and January are notoriously slow. We have national acts confirmed that cannot yet be announced,” he said.
Martin noted that even if the calendar was less peppered towards the end of the year, the normal programming of the rooftop is open and the second floor DJs are all scheduled. New Year’s Eve 2020 tickets are already on sale.
So, breathe a sigh of relief, Rock and Rollers. We’re not in Maryland yet:
DC is gonna be indistinguishable from downtown Bethesda in a few years. https://t.co/zSPCMiHx9i
