This weekend, you can attend the Literary Hill BookFest without leaving the comfort of your own home. It’s the first ever Virtual Literary Hill Bookfest!
Well-known authors of poetry, novels, nonfiction, children’s books, and memoirs will participate both live and in recorded videos. a discussion on the ways literature can sustain us during a crisis, featuring Louis Bayard, Abby Maslin, Chris Data and E. Ethelbert Miller. Get the kids together for stories in the Virtual Children’s Corner, or t feature poets in the online poetry slam.
The FREE event takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3.
For years, free, day-long celebration of Capitol Hill authors and books has taken place in Eastern Market, featuring discussions, book-gs, author meet-and-greets and children’s activities.
The flavor of Washington DC’s Capitol Hill neighborhood will still permeate the BookFest, but you do not have to leave the house to attend this year. As other activities are circumscribed, reading and literature have taken on a critical role and the Literary Hill BookFest helps to feature local literature and the people who create it.
