District Flow Yoga and Barracks Row Main Street have partnered to offer FREE Outdoor Vinyasa at Eastern Market Metro Park. Each class is 60 minutes in length and open to all levels of yoga experience. Please bring your own mat, towel and water. Classes are on Saturdays at 10 am at Eastern Market Metro Park (next to the playground). Watch the weather –classes might be cancelled due to inclement weather or unsafe/wet ground conditions.

Hill Family Biking: 3 Bridges Ride |Starts Lincoln Park, Emancipation Monument (11th and E Capitol Streets) | 10-11:30 a.m. | Free
Explore the bridges along the Anacostia River Trail with Hill Family Biking. The ride will cross over 3 bridges along the west and east banks of the Anacostia River for the group’s longest ride yet –a little over 5.5 miles. The ride ends at Capital Candy Jar for some much-deserved ice cream, a fundraiser for WABA.
Volunteers will keep the ride together. The MPD bike team will also be participating in the ride to connect officers with the community.
If your family’s bikes need some TLC, come 30 minutes early to get some assistance–From 10-10:30 there will be bike tune-up help and bike maintenance tools available.

The Lekki Loading: “The Summer Classic” | Hil Center (921 Pennsylvania Ave. SE) | 3-8 p.m. | TICKETS
The “Lekki Loading: Summer Classic” is a mash-up of a traditional Summer Classic event infused with traditions and culture of Nigerian Highlife. The event will showcase an assortment of widely popular traditional Nigerian cuisines and Small Chops. It will heavily feature the rapidly growing Afrobeats genre while also mixing in hip-hop and reggae sounds. The ultimate goal is to curate an experience where guest will be able to experience the taste of authentic Nigerian cuisines while simultaneously enjoying the infectious ambience of the countries infectious nightlife experience.

Is gallery representation really necessary? How does an artist know if they are ready? What choices might an artist be making now that could limit future prospects? Does representation compromise an artist’s agency? What is the difference between a commercial and a non-profit gallery? Is there an appropriate way to approach a gallery?
There are so many considerations surrounding what many artists see as a confusing and sometimes controversial topic.
Holly Bass (artist), Myrtis Bedolla (gallerist and art consultant), Schwanda Rountree (lawyer and art consultant), and Sheldon Scott (artist) as they examine these questions and more.
Moderated by independent curator, Gia Harewood (@giametricart), this discussion is a collaborative project between The Yard and BADC (Black Artists of DC).

Vinny, an Air Force veteran, having served 26-years Active-Duty. He began his comedy career in 2019 through the non-profit organization Armed Services Arts PartnershipVinny is well-connected in the DC area comedy scene and veteran community. Wicked Comedy entertainment has one goal, to make people laugh WICKED hard, have a WICKED time, and showcase WICKED awesome talent at their events!

Reflective fractals and oversized mirrored pieces shaped like fortune-tellers will brighten the Center Court of the National Building Museum’s Great Hall. Enjoy an all-level yoga practice with Beth A. Wolfe under the hanging reflective fractals, accompanied by a relaxing and grounding sound bath, facilitated by Mel of Beyond Yoga.
DIY Candle Bar: ALL DAY | Relume (760 C St. NE) | 10:30 a.m. – 5:50 p.m. | TICKETS $25
Pour your own soy candle with local candlemakers at Relume, the new vintage, handmade goods and DIY Workshop beside Eastern Market. You’ll select your favorite vintage vessel, create a custom scent blend, and top the wax with crystals and other decorations! Relume will guide you in this unique DIY experience, sending you home with a one-of-a-kind candle (and after burning, the container is ready to re-use.)
Choose from vintage porcelain, crystal, stoneware, handmade ceramics, and beyond. It takes about 25 minutes to make the candle and 30 min for it to harden.
NOTE: Tickets are for timed entry for every half hour from 10:30 – 5:30. You can reserve a space using Eventbrite, or you can walk in but availability may be limited during peak hours.

A Reading and Conversation with Mary Lynn Reed, Author of ‘Phantom Advances’ | Little District Books (737 Eighth St. SE) | 6:30 p.m. start | RESERVE SPOT (Free)
A reading, g and conversation with the writer of this debut short story collection. In Phantom Advances, young queer women travel the backroads of America, negotiating the country and questions about gender and identity. In addition to writing fiction, Mary Lynn Reed is also a mathematician –she has an MFA from the University of Maryland and a PhD in Math from the University of Illinois.
