Two Fatal Shootings Monday in Northeast

Two men were killed Monday in northeast DC, deaths separated only by about 9 hours and seven blocks.

At around 1:42 p.m., officers from Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Fifth District went to the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue NE, at Starburst Plaza, for the report of a shooting. When they got there officers found a man suffering from gunshot wound injuries.

He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Davon Fuller, of Northwest, DC.

C Street NE

At 10:20 p.m. First District officers went to the 300 block of Tennesee Avenue NE. There, they found a person lying in the middle of the street suffering from gunshot wounds.

DC Fire Emergency Medical Services (DC FEMS) arrived on scene and attempted live-saving measures. However, the efforts were not successful and the victim was declared dead on the scene.

Police have not yet issued information on the victim.

Another victim was sent to hospital with gunshot wounds. A lookout was issued for a white hatchback travelling north on Tennesee Avenue towards D Street NE.

Police also closed the southbound lane of 14th Street at D Street NE in what is believed to be a related incident involving a vehicular crash.

MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information, photos and video may be submitted to the department’s text tip line by sending a text message to 50411.
