Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Homicide Branch are investigating a shooting that killed a man in Northeast DC.
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at around 11:30 a.m., Fifth District officers responded to the 700 block of 15th Street NE, just north of Miner Elementary, after getting reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, officers found a man with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
It is the third shooting death in Hill East in three days. Two men were killed Monday. Police found one man on the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue NE at about 1:18 p.m. The second man was pronounced dead on the 300 block of Tennessee Avenue NE about 9 hours later after all live-saving efforts failed at the scene.
MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
