It’s January! For many with school-aged children, now is the time to think about summer camp.
Karen Pezos, who is helping organize this year‘s camp fair, say January is the time to start thinking about summer camps.
Pazos is an organizer of the J.O. Wilson Elementary School Annual DC Summer Camps Fair. One year, she said, they planned the fair for March instead of January. “By then, several camps said they were interested, but already fully booked,” she said.
DC Camp Fair offers one-stop shopping for possible camp experiences, as well as a chance to meet camp representatives and ask questions. It is a free, one-shop stop to plan your child’s summer. More than 400 families attended last year to check out 30 different camps. This year, the Camp Fair takes place Saturday, Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at J.O. Wilson Elementary.
It’s the only event of its kind in the District, a one-stop shopping for camp experiences for you and your child that offers a chance to look at offerings, pick up some swag, and ask questions of program representatives.
January is an excellent time to think about camps, because registration for camps starts soon, and many fill up quickly.
