Celebration of life for Tom Kuchenberg

There will be a celebration of life for Tom Kuchenberg on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the North Hall of the Eastern Market from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kuchenberg, who died on April 13, served on the Eastern Market Community Advisory Committee (EMCAC) for a number of years.

Plain-spoken and wasting no time unnecessarily complicating issues, Kuchneberg led a varied and vibrant working life of government service.

In his earlier days, he worked at the Cellar Door jazz club as well as on the Alaska pipe line. He coauthored a book on the environment called “Reflections In A Tarnished Mirror: The Use and Abuses of the Great Lakes.”

Kuchenberg bought a vacation cottage in Nova Scotia more than thirty years ago which he visited regularly.

“Tom was a very special individual and his ing is a great loss  not only to his family and friends but to  our community and the EMCAC family,” said EMCAC Chair Chuck Burger in a statement. “He will be sorely missed. ”
