Good Neighbors Capitol Hill Needs Small Appliances for Refugees

Good Neighbors Capitol Hill (GNCH) is still helping resettle refugees. The group is in urgent need of the kitchen appliances and flat screen TVs. They can be used, but must be clean and in good working order.

GNCH is a coalition of more than ten congregations and community who have been working together since 2016 to welcome the area’s newest neighbors.

The multi-faith group includes Methodist, Episcopalian, Catholic, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Jewish and Mormon congregations, among others. Historically refugees arriving in the DC metro area have been primarily Afghan families of translators and other special immigrant visa holders who have assisted the U.S. military in Afghanistan. But others have come from Central American countries, from which they fled war and persecution.

GNCH specifically needs:

  • Blenders & mixers
  • Electric kettles
  • Flat screen TVs (with all cords/remotes)
  • Alarm clocks
  • Slow cookies or pressure cookers
  • Rice makers
  • Toasters
  • Coffee makers
  • Microwaves

If you have items to donate, please email Joyce at [email protected] for drop off info on the Hill. Feel free to share this list as the need is greatr!
