April 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., gather with the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition (GWCCC) at the National Mall (782-822 Madison Dr. NW) to walk for a greener future with an interactive learning experience focused on cleaner vehicles, fuels, air and cities. Celebrate sustainability while you meet government, industry and nonprofit leaders.
It’s the very first annual Earth Day 5K Walk, accompanied by displays of green energy and alternative fuel vehicles.

The theme for Earth Day 2025, ‘Our Power, Our Planet,’ emphasizes the importance of expanding renewable energy sources to help protect our planet. The walk talks place from 10 a.m. to noon with a celebration at the finish line.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., check out the Green Expo Exhibits and alternative fuel vehicle displays on the mall between Third and Seventh Streets SW. Experts from government, industry, nongovernmental agencies and universities will showcase research, products and services demonstrating how renewable energy, alternative fuels, and advanced technologies can reduce the nation’s dependence on foreign oil and strengthen our economic and energy security.
The stage, for opening ceremonies and recognition will be on Third Street SW, between Madison Dr. NW and Jefferson Dr. SW, between the U.S. Capitol Building and the Washington Monument.
