EMMS Offers Fun Activities Every Third Thursday

Eastern Market Main Street (EMMS) as they connect residents, neighbors, visitors and business owners to place through a new event series!

On the third Thursday every month from May through September, EMMS will bring games, entertainment, activities, and more to the C Street plaza (777 C St. SE).

in the free fun with friends and neighbors! All are welcome.

The planned events are outlined below, but check the EMMS website regularly for schedule updates.​​

May 16

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:  Learn about Bike to Work Day with Capitol Hill BID, play Giant Jenga and Giant Checkers, enjoy outdoor seating, and more!

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:  Experience Capitol Bikeshare and goDCgo

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:  Handy Bikes pop-up shop

4 p.m. to 7 p.m.:  Gearing Up DC pop-up shop (get a free bike tune-up!)

4 p.m. to 6 p.m.:  Live art with Amber Kilpatrick

4 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Tastings with JRINK Eastern Market

5 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Carly Harvey, D.C.’s Queen of The Blues performs

5 p.m. to 7 p.m.:  French Soiree at Paris Bleu DC (321 Seventh St. SE, 2nd Floor)*

6 p.m. to 10 p.m.:  Open Board Game Night with Labyrinth (645 Pennsylvania Ave. SE)*

6:30 p.m.: DL Librarian David Quick and the Capitol Hill Reads Book Club discusses the book Heads of the Colored People at East City Bookshop (645 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, Unit 100)*

 

June 20

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Play Giant Jenga and Giant Checkers, learn about the CityWalker App, enjoy outdoor seating, and more!

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:  Say hi to National Capital Bank

4 p.m. to 6 p.m.:  Live art with Amber Kilpatrick

4:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.: Storytime with DC Public Library Southeast Branch

5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Decorate a visor with EMMS

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.: DC Fringe FestivalMobile Box Office

5 p.m. to 7 p.m.:  DC Strings Workshop Performance

6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Historic Walking Tour with DC by Foot

July 18​

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Contribute to our Community Playlist, play Giant Jenga and Giant Checkers, enjoy outdoor seating, and more!

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:  Community art project with Streetsense and Capitol Hill Group Ministry

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:  Say hi to National Capital Bank

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.: DC Fringe Festival Mobile Box Office

4:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.: Storytime with DC Public Library Southeast Branch

August 15

  • 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Play Giant Jenga and Giant Checkers, enjoy outdoor seating, and more!
  • 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:  Sew a patch and pocket station with Sew Queer DC
  • 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.:  Seth Kibel and Flo Anito
  • 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.:  Pop-up adventure playground with DC Public Library, Southeast

September 19

  • 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Play Giant Jenga and Giant Checkers, enjoy outdoor seating, and more!
  • 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:  Community art installation for Park(ing) Day
  • 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.:  Capitol Hill Jazz Foundation
