On Monday, detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Fifth District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon that happened on Monday, June 3 on the 800 block of Bladensburg Road NE.
At around 9:43 a.m., a suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and threatened an employee. He was was subsequently captured by officers.
On Monday, June 3, a 23 year-old Northeast man was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).

At 8:58 a.m. Monday, a man was arrested on the 900 block of Delaware Avenue SW on charges of Destruction of Property.
At 9:43 a.m. Monday, there was an assault with a dangerous weapon at a doctor’s office on the 800 block of Bladensburg Road NE.
At 12:23 p.m. Monday, a man was arrested on the 2400 block of Benning Road NE on charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
At 1:53 p.m. Monday, a woman was arrested on the 700 block of 19th Street NE on charges of Simple Assault.
At 3 p.m. Monday, a man was arrested at the Cannon House Office Building on charges of Possession of a Bb Gun.
Reporting Illegal Activity
Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.
When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:
- Brief description of the activity;
- Date, time and location of the activity;
- Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
- Descriptions of vehicles;
- Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
- Your name and information.
