Second Wind, a small chorus that has been making music on Capitol Hill for more than a decade, will inaugurate its spring season on March 7. New singers are always welcome.
The group is d with Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, where it rehearses Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2 pm and performs in concert twice a year. In December Second Wind appeared as a part of a special musical program marking CHAW’s 50th anniversary. Its selections encom classical and pop, traditional and sacred songs, Palestrina and Billy Joel, every season a new musical experience. This spring the group will be rehearsing and performing under interim director Mandy Brown, a D.C.-area soprano and conductor.
There are no auditions to Second Wind, and the ability to read music, while certainly helpful, isn’t necessary. hip fees are assessed on a sliding scale. As long as the pandemic persists, singers will be required to wear masks and new must show proof of vaccination.
