Celebrate Spring at Petalpalooza

Peak bloom has come and gone, but the National Cherry Blossom Festival still has all of your family fun covered this spring. Don’t miss Petalpalooza, an all day celebration with live entertainment, music, food, fireworks and activities, Saturday April 8 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.

The event will feature five activity and entertainment zones: Navy Yard, Tingey Plaza, the Chase Main Stage at the Yards, The Great Lawn and Diamond Teague Park. Each location will feature a variety of different activities and events including t-shirt crafting, jump rope, paddleboat rentals, art showcases and installations, drinks and a beer garden, food trucks, balloon artists, live performances and much more.

The event will conclude with a fireworks show set to music at 8:30 p.m.

The festival coordinators recommend utilizing public transportation to get to and from the festival as parking will be limited. The closest WMATA Metro stop is the Navy Yard/Ballpark station. All roads south of M St. SE between First and Fifth Streets will be closed for the duration of the event.

This event is free, and there is no advanced registration required. You can learn more about the National Cherry Blossom Festival and Petalpalooza here.
