Where to Get Your Holiday Tree On The Hill

Is it time to get your holiday tree!

Lucky for you, you don’t have to go far (or even leave the house if you don’t want!) to get your tree. There’s a number of fundraisers, schools and local businesses that sell trees right here on the Hill. Shop local, shop ive, shop your community.

But most fundraisers do expect to sell out! So, don’t wait: preorder has already started for many.

Brent Elementary (301 N. Carolina Ave. SE) | online | Thursday Nov. 30 thru Sunday, Dec. 3

The Brent Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will hold its 12th Holiday Sale from Thursday, Nov. 30 to Sunday, Dec. 3. The online sale runs from Nov. 8 to 28.

Fragrant Fraser fir trees and Hanukkah items will be available for presale starting November 8th at www.brentholidaysale.org  The outdoor on-lot sale will run from Thursday, December 1st through Sunday, December 4th and, in addition to trees, include greenery, poinsettias, winterberry, and Hanukkah items. All customers will also have the popular option to have their trees delivered on the day of purchase and the option for in-home setup.

This year’s on-lot sale will be open at 301 N. Carolina Ave. SE on the following days and times Thursday and Friday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Miner Elementary is hosting its 7th annual greenery sale Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2. They’ve sold out multiple years running, so pre-order by 5 p.m. Nov 29 at: https://www.minerelementary.org/greenery2023.html! A limited number of trees will be available on the lot.

You can not just one but two local schools at this sale! Miner is partnering with the Eliot-Hine Middle School PTO (which is selling poinsettias). This sale will be a one-stop shop for all your holiday needs, and all proceeds directly educational opportunities for local students.

Maury’s 4th Annual Wreath sale is open and accepting pre-orders here! Wreathes will be able for pick-up at Maury on Dec. 1. There will be a very limited quantity of wreaths for sale on-site, but if you want to make sure you get the size and type you want, order here.

The Salt Line Tree Lot (79 Potomac Ave. SE) | Friday, Nov. 24 until trees are gone 

The Salt Line kicks off their 12th Annual Christmas tree lot at Noon on Friday, Nov. 24th –the day after Thanksgiving! Be sure to stop by to pick out your perfect Christmas tree. All proceeds from the Tree Lot sale will go directly to the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation.

While you’re there, take advantage of Happy Afternoon specials from 12 to 4 p.m., before or after you shop. They’ll start your holiday celebration for you. With every tree purchase they’re giving one free cocktail, so eat, drink, and be merry!

The Salt Line is offering their 12th Annual Christmas Tree Lot just in time for the holidays, which means you can get your Christmas tree and other decor items early, with an added treat. Stands, wreaths, garlands and collectible items will all be on sale.

The tree lot will open Friday, Nov. 24 at noon and will run weekly, Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Capitol Hill Scouts Christmas Trees, Wreaths & Tabletop Trees | 212 East Capitol St. (Lutheran Church of the Reformation) | Thurs Nov 30 through Sun Dec 4

Come by the annual Pack 230 and Scout Troop 500 Christmas Tree and Wreath Fundraiser
and Coat Drive, a Capitol Hill tradition! The sale will be held Thursday through Sunday in front of the Lutheran Church at 212 East Capitol St NE.
The Scouts will have a variety of Christmas Trees and Wreaths available. The funds raised
from the Christmas Tree and Wreath sale help the girls and boys of Troop 500 and
Pack 230 throughout the year for campouts, equipment, service projects, donations, and
other activities.
The Scouts are also collecting new and gently used winter coats to donate, so please bring
your used coats to donate.

Wundergarten Giving Tree Lot (100-198 L St. NE) | Friday, Dec. 1 

The Giving Tree Lot is back at Wunder Garten this year. You can choose from Frasier Firs, Balsam Firs, Douglas Firs, White Pine, Scotch Pine and Blue Spruce. Tree sizes are all the way from table toppers to more than ten feet.

While you’re there, pop into Wundergarten’s annual WINTERFEST holiday festival from Friday, Dec 1 through Friday, Dec 23. Find your tree but also a cozy fire pit and a hot chocolate bar, or holiday craft activities surrounded in a festively decorated Winter Wunderland for that perfect Instagram selfie or holiday card.

2021 was The Giving Tree Project’s most successful year yet, raising more than $46,000 for the h3 Project, a DC-based non-profit which provides and connects people experiencing homelessness to services. Your donations will enable the h3 Project to purchase and provide household essentials for its clients, including kitchen utensils, small appliances, bedding and more!

Every year, regular suppliers from stalwarts like Dunham Farms, Ashton Farms and Pennsylvania Ave Tree Farm create a winter forest at Eastern Market, lining trees against the east side of the building and in rows under the green farmer’s hood. Sizes range from a few feet as high as 15 feet. Trees come in fresh daily. Each vendors is on-site at different hours, but you’ll be sure to find trees every day of the week starting Nov. 24 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Christmas Eve. easternmarket-dc.org
